Boys’ JV basketball

On Jan. 14, the Plevna boys’ JV basketball team hosted the Wibaux Longhorns. The boys played an intense game with Cooper Peterson leading the scoreboard putting in 8 points, followed by Seth Carroll with 6 points. Hadyn Mellon and Bret Edgell both added 4 points and Nick Buerkle put in 2 points. The final score was Plevna Cougars 24 and Wibaux Longhorns 36.

On Jan. 18, the boys’ JV team traveled to Ekalaka to play against the Bulldogs. Cooper Peterson had a good night with 17 points with two of the shots being 3 pointers, Bret Edgell put in 6 points, and Hadyn Mellon adding 4 points, 1 basket being a 3 pointer. Seth Carroll added 3 points, while Nick Buerkle put in 2 points. The final score was Plevna Cougars 32 and Ekalaka 40

Girls’ Varsity basketball

On Jan. 14, the Plevna Varsity Lady Cougars’ basketball team had a tough team to play as they hosted the Wibaux Longhorns, but they played their hearts out nevertheless. Jenna Paul led the scoreboard for Plevna with 6 points followed by Chloe Tudor with 5. Jaiden Dulin put in 2 points, and Dacy Buerkle added 1 point. Unfortunately for the Lady Cougars, the final score was Plevna 14 and Wibaux 71.

On Jan. 18, the girls’ Varsity team traveled to Ekalaka for another tough game. The Lady Cougars put up a tough fight. At the top of the scoreboard with 4 points each was Dacy Buerkle, Chloe Tudor, and Jenna Paul, while Sophia Schumacher added 1 point. Although the girls played hard, the final score was Plevna 13 and Ekalaka 70.
