The boys basketball faced off against St. Labre on Jan. 25 and met some tough competition at the C-Squad and JV level.
In C-Squad action, the Spartans suffered a 40-60 loss. Nathan Schallenberger claimed high point honors for the evening with a total of 14 points; he was followed by Jonathan Reetz who had 9 points. Guy Lesh was next in scoring with a total of 6 points. Ethan Gundlach and Bryant O’Connor each added 4 points, followed by Rory Lingle with 3 points. Rory and Guy claimed most rebounds, with 7 each, followed by Nathan who had 6 rebounds. Owen Stieg pulled in 5 rebounds, while Bryant had 4 and Ethan had 3 and Colin Lorbiecke had 2. In addition, Colin had 2 assists. Ethan, Rory, and Guy each had 3 steals in their attempt to defeat Lame Deer.
In the JV matchup, the Baker Spartans put up a good fight but ended up losing 49-61. Nathan Schallenberger and Ethan Gundlach both finished with 14 points. Bryant O’Connor added 9 points to the Spartans’ attempt, followed by Rory Lingle with 5, Jory Miller with 4, and Guy Lesh with 3 points. Nathan pulled in the most rebounds with a total of 12 and Ethan followed close behind with 11 rebounds. Bryant grabbed 5 rebounds, while Jory had 4, Rory 3, and Guy 2. Ethan and Bryant each had 5 steals, Rory 4, and Guy and Nathan each had 2 steals.
