Valentines Day, as we know it, is a day to celebrate our love and affection towards friends and family. It originated in Rome, during the festival of Lupercalia, originally meant for the pairing of brides with potential husbands. Now, it is lightly celebrated on Feb. 14 with yummy chocolates and sweet notes!
Mrs. Bidwell’s kindergarten class brought their creativity hats and crafted Valentine’s boxes out of coffee cans, the students threw a sweet party. Mrs. Downing’s first grade class enjoyed a Friday Valentine Party. Their mailboxes were attached to the front of their desks, each student expectedly awaiting their treats. Mrs. Oberlander’s second graders had beautiful lace drawings, and built boxes for their candy. Mrs. Benner’s third grade class also celebrated on Friday, and made Valentines Holder’s for their treats.
