On April 7, Plevna FFA members Dacy Buerkle, Jenna Paul, Chloe Tudor, Jaeda Paul, Sophia Schumacher, Maddi Butori, and Whitney Thielen, along with Adviser Mrs. Menees, made their way to Billings to participate in the 91st Annual Montana FFA State Convention. Upon arrival, Mrs. Menees and Jenna Paul attended the State Degree Session, where Jenna received her State Degree. The members stepped into their official dress before attending the 1st General Session Wednesday night where they heard results from CDE Days and retiring addresses from the State 2nd Vice President Chay VanDyke and State Reporter Gracie Tooke.

The next morning, Sophia Schumacher competed in her Greenhand competition. After which they ventured to a workshop that was presented by the 2020-2021 State Officer team. While at the workshop, members brushed up on their line dancing skills, learned about how to start relationships, how to strengthen their existing relationships, and faced off against other members from across the state in an FFA trivia game. Following the meal, they made their way back to the hotel where they sat down and had an officer meeting regarding the month of April and any other upcoming FFA events. Then they dressed in their official dress again and headed to the 2nd General Session to listen to Bailey Gasvoda, State 1st Vice President, and Gracie Smith’s, State Treasurer, retiring addresses.

Friday morning, the Chapter members headed to National FFA Southern Region Vice President Artha Jonassaint’s workshop. While there, the girls learned about values and how they define our character. They asked for a quick picture with Artha before they worked on planning the Plevna FFA Banquet. Dressing for the 3rd Session, members learned to remember your roots and wings while they listened to State Parliamentarian Allyson Young’s retiring address and to say “ta-da” after making mistakes thanks to State Secretary McKenna Quirk’s address. Sophia was enlightened to hear the results of the State Greenhand competition, where she placed second.

Saturday morning found the members enjoying the Final General Session of the State Convention where they heard the results of the CDE competitions, watched the installation of the 2021-2022 State Officer Team, and the retiring addresses of the State President Brooke Mehlhoff and State Sentinel Max Andres. The FBM team, consisting of Jenna Paul, Dacy Buerkle, Chloe Tudor, and Jaeda Paul, placed 8th. Congratulations to Sophia, Jenna, Dacy, Chloe, and Jaeda on their accomplishments in their CDEs.
