March 16, Mrs. Menees, adviser, and the meat judging team traveled to Glendive for their competition. Upon arrival, Dacy Buerkle, Chloe Tudor, Brentan Beyers, Sophia Tudor and Kalob Bollinger competed in individual knowledge tests. Following this, the FFA members were split up into groups and sent to different tables; each station tested them on various meat judging areas. These consisted of meat identification, yield grade of ten beef carcasses, marbling scores, and placing pork and beef 1-4. After rotating through the stations in 20-minute intervals, the competitors devoured yummy Subway lunches, donated by Mrs. Vandyke. The FFA Chapters chatted freely, and eagerly awaited the final results of the competitions. Finally, State Officers Chay Vandyke, Gracie Tooke, and Brooke Mehlhoff assembled at the front of the room and enlightened the members of who would be competing at state in their competitions. The Plevna Meat Judging Team placed 3rd overall; individually Dacy Buerkle placed 5th, Brentan Beyers 7th, and Chloe Tudor 9th. The team enjoyed the new experience of meat judging, and were delighted with the results.
