This last weekend marked the end of the Montana State Speech and Drama Tournament.

The virtual season came to a close after many new trials for the Spartans. For the three seniors, they had to adapt to performing online, where previously they always competed in front of a crowd. The team had to work through the difficulties that came with online tournaments, several pertaining to the website that the meets were held through. Thankfully, the two new members, both freshmen, were able to slowly accustom themselves to performing in front of a group in a way in which they have never done before.

For final placing, Zachery Craig achieved 8th in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Tuf Ranum did not place in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Hannah Goerndt placed 10th in Dramatic Solo. Chloee Thurlow and Bryce Shelhamer achieved 10th in Humorous Duo.

Although the year didn’t go as expected, all three seniors; Hannah, Zachery and Bryce all agreed that they were glad to have participated and happy that they all tried, even though this year was different from years past.
