The Baker Spartan basketball teams hosted Wolf Point for their second game of the season on Jan. 8.

All games for the Lady Spartans were challenging and in close distance, with all three teams coming out on top for the win. The Baker Spartan boys basketball team took on the Wolf Point Wolves at home on Jan. 8. The varsity and JV team were both victories over the Wolves but the C-Squad was defeated.

Baker boys varsity

The boys varsity final score was 57-48 with the Spartans coming out on top. Jaxson Tronstad was the leading scorer with 16 points. He also had 9 rebounds. Logan Graham followed with 12 points and 3 assists. Konner Flint had 10 points and 1 assist. Ethan Gundlach had 7 points, 1 assist, 4 rebounds and 6 steals. Guy Lesh had 7 points and 4 rebounds. Garrett Lesh had 4 points, 1 assist and 11 rebounds. Jory Miller had 1 point and 2 rebounds.

Baker boys JV

The boys JV final score was 55-34. Bryant O’Connor led with 21 points. He also had 4 rebounds. Nathan Schallenburger followed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Guy Lesh had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Rory Lingle had 7 points and 1 assist. Riley Williams had 3 points and 2 rebounds. Walker Hadley had 2 points and 1 assist. Cooper O’Connor 2 points and 3 rebounds. Quinn Griffith had 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Baker Boys C-Squad

During the C-Squad Quinn Griffith led with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Bryten Martin followed with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Riley Williams had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist. Cooper O’Connor had 4 points, 2 steals and 3 assists. Carter Gion also had 4 points and 4 rebounds. Owen Stieg had 3 points and 1 rebound. Aiden Wyrwas had 2 points and 4 rebounds. Colin Lorbiecke had 1 point and 4 rebounds.

Baker girls varsity

The Lady Spartans had a tight race with the score for the night but came out with a victory against the Lady Wolves with a score of 55-50. High scorer for the night was Mya Hadley, who finished the evening with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. She was followed by Emily Shumaker who received 11 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Peyton Janeway put in 10 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. Anika Ploeger contributed with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Additional support for the scoreboard came from Harlee Graham with 3 points and 4 rebounds, Alex Williams with 4 rebounds and 1 steal and Eve Uecker with 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Baker girls JV

The JV girls had quite the close game but were able to squeeze in a win against the Wolves with a finishing score of 28-27. The high earner of the night was Saraya Afrank with 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Next in line were Kaytlynn Gaub with 6 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals along with Kendall Shepherd with 6 points as well, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Faith Hansen added 5 points and 3 rebounds to the game. Jessica Stark brought 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

Baker girls C-Squad

The girls C-Squad finished with a win against the Wolves ending with a score of 14-9. High points for this game went to Mallory Varner with 5 points and 2 rebounds. Faith Hansen contributed 3 points and 1 steal. Kendall Shepherd, Kaytlynn Gaub, and Briley Gorder all added 2 points to the scoreboard for the night.
