Throughout the month of January, the Knights of Columbus Council #6294 of Baker held their annual Free Throw Contest at the Baker, Ekalaka and Plevna Schools.

Mr. Mangold and Mrs. Phelps organized the Knights of Columbus Free Throw contest for the Plevna School.

Girls and boys ages 9-14 could participate in this competition. The students each shot 15 free throws to determine who the Council Winners would be this year.

Sophia Schumacher had the highest score for the 14 year old girls with 12/15 free throws. Next, was sixth grader Kaeden Oberlander with 11/15 in the 11 year old boys’ division; Corbin Buerkle won the boys 10 year old division with 8/15 shots. Chaes Oberlander made 8/15 winning the 9 year old boys division, and Claire Schumacher made 6/15 winning the girls 10 year old competition. Great job students, we are proud to see you hard at work sinking free throws!
