On March 11, President Dacy Buerkle called to order the seventh meeting of the Plevna FFA Chapter.

There were 17 members present; the treasurer’s report the secretary’s minutes were read and approved.

For old business, Sophia Schumacher recapped February’s Harvest of the Month, which was beets.

The officers traveled around and spoke with classes about the nutritional aspect of beets, as well as the anatomy of a beet.

Dacy Buerkle congratulated everybody who competed in Day 2 of Winter Districts. She announced the placings of the Mechanics, FBM, Floriculture and Greenhand teams and members.

For new business, Madison Butori let everybody know that on March 17, during study hall, the officers will be traveling to classes and talking about grains.

Jenna Paul notified the Chapter members of the upcoming spring district competition; events at this competition include Meat Judging and Horse Judging. March 26-27 are CDE Days in Missoula; the teams that will be competing include Vet Science and Floriculture. For the month of March, the officers will be decorating the signs outside of town with butterflies, shamrocks, rainbows, and a pot of gold to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

After the meeting, members participated in a number game in which a group must count to ten without teammates saying the same number, and a word game in which members had to pair up and spell words using only their noses.

Madison Butori hosted the St. Patrick’s Day meeting, and brought a traditional Irish dessert known as Blarneystones for the members to try.
