On Jan. 9, the Baker Speech and Drama team once again competed. The tournaments are held online, so the team participates at Baker High School.

The members separate into different rooms to perform and watch rounds, and then spend any extra time practicing or trying to calm their nerves. There are three regular rounds, semi-finals, and finals. The first round begins at 8 a.m., second at 10 a.m. and third at 12 p.m. Semi-finals and finals are scheduled to go at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., but oftentimes can get delayed depending on how long it takes for judges to finalize their decision.

Final placing for the Baker Speech and Drama team was Tuff Ranum with 16th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Zachery Craig with 5th place also in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Hannah Goerndt placed 19th in Dramatic Solo, and Chloe Thurlow and Bryce Shelhamer placed 7th in Humorous Duo.

The next meet will be online at the High School on Saturday, Jan. 16.
