The Plevna Schools Award Ceremony commenced May 19, during study hall. Mrs. Sparks started the affair with students who reached a 100+ AR points, including Izzy Cuppy, Trinity Rieger, Sophia Schumacher, Chloe Tudor, Ashley Sander and Felicia Li. Next, Mrs. Sparks announced english students who had a 93% or better for all four quarters of the school year; each student received a pin and certificate for their accomplishments. These students included: Jenna Paul, Dacy Buerkle, Trinity Rieger, Ashley Sander, Chloe Tudor, Jaeda Paul, Izzy Cuppy and Sophia Schumacher. Jenna Paul received a certificate and pin for being a Library Aide during second semester. Mrs. Sparks’ final certificates and pins were delivered to the journalism staff Jenna Paul, editor, Dacy Buerkle, Chloe Tudor, Jaeda Paul, Sophia Schumacher and Whitney Thielen.

Mrs. Benner, BPA Adviser, announced awards received by Trinity Rieger. She commended her on achievements throughout the year and presented her with a certificate, t-shirt and pin. The next extracurricular activity that handed out awards was the FCCLA Chapter. This year Kali Dulin placed first in the State, and will be attending Nationals this summer. Mrs. Robertus awarded her a plaque and medal; the only senior in FCCLA, Jenna Paul received the FCCLA chords to wear for graduation.

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Schumacher started the athletic awards with junior high and high school track. Each student received a certificate, and ribbons for the track meets where they placed. Hayden Lane and Kali Dulin each received a coaches’ award, and Sara Tudor earned most improved. The high school track team was awarded certificates for academic excellence, as well as pins for their letters.

Mrs. Phelps and Miss Wiseman presented awards for this year’s volleyball teams. Izzy Cuppy, Sophia Schumacher, Whitney Thielen and Tylee Rieger all lettered and received a pin. Jenna Paul, Dacy Buerkle, Chloe Tudor, Jaeda Paul and Jaiden Dulin each received a pin. Dacy Buerkle received the coaches’ award, Sophia Schumacher most improved, and Jaiden Dulin was the most valuable Player.

Next on the agenda, Mrs. Robertus and Ashley O’Donnell handed out awards for the girls’ varsity basketball team. Jenna Paul, Dacy Buerkle and Chloe Tudor each received a certificate for being Team captains; Tylee Rieger was recognized as team manager. Jaeda Paul received the most improved; Sophia Schumacher was awarded the coaches’ award; Jaiden Dulin was the top defender. Jason Bollinger handed out awards for the boys’ JV basketball team. Most improved players went to the eighth graders Kalob Bollinger, Ethan Mellon, Tristan Buerkle and Trae Oberlander; Brentan Beyers received the coaches’ award. The junior high basketball players each were awarded certificates for their participation in the season, as well as recognition for junior high girls’ team placing 3rd in their tournament.

Mr. Schumacher ended the ceremony handing out honor roll and perfect attendance awards. The sixth grade students on honor roll were: Lizzy Cole, Jaylee Cornwell, Abagayel Stonebrink, Sara Tudor, Ahren Goben, Samuel May, Caleb McLachlan, Kaeden Oberlander and Jordan Paul; seventh grade students included Callie Hoenke, Weston Buerkle, Hugo Thielen, Turk Rieger and Tate Poppe. The eighth grade students on honor roll include: Kalob Bollinger, Tristan Buerkle, Kali Dulin, Ella Gray, Jordan Hauff, Hayden Lane, Billie Jo Miller, Trae Oberlander and Sophia Tudor; freshmen were Noah McLachlan, Tylee Rieger, Sophia Schumacher and Whitney Thielen. The entire sophomore class is on honor roll, including Nick Buerkle, Izzy Cuppy, Jaiden Dulin, Ruilin Li and Jaeda Paul. The junior students on honor roll were Dean Alford and Chloe Tudor; senior students included Jenna Paul, Ashley Sander, Trinity Rieger and Dacy Buerkle. Michael Goben and Sophia Schumacher had perfect attendance for the year. Congratulations students on your hard work and dedication!
