Students had quite a busy and exciting Homecoming this past week! There were definitely some changes this year, but overall students were grateful to still get to have the opportunity to experience it with one another!

The spirited dress-up days were a sight to see this week and some students really went all out. Tuesday was “Decade Day” where each class chose a decade they would dress up as. The seniors picked the 90’s, juniors the 70’s, sophomores were the 80’s, freshmen chose the 50’s, and the junior high was the 60’s. On Wednesday, students were either twins or rivals and there were many good pairs to see. Some examples were Bobcat vs Griz, Pepsi vs Coca Cola, cowboy and cowgirl and many matching outfits. Next on Thursday, students were assigned a specific generation to dress-up as. Seniors were the elderly, juniors were middle-aged adults, sophomores were Gen Z, freshmen were toddlers, and junior high was supposed to be babies. This was the most hilarious of the dress-up days and the students really put in the effort to represent their age group. Lastly, Friday was the traditional maroon and gold day. With jerseys filling the hallways and students decked out in as much Spartans gear as possible.

Students also were able to participate in a scavenger hunt at the end of the day Friday. This was put on by Student Council and quite a fun adventure! Students had to complete many different tasks both inside and outside of the building. The first group from each class was the winner and awarded a prize. Students really enjoyed this high-stakes experience and it was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors!

Homecoming week festivities ended with the Powder Puff football game on Saturday evening. The classic white and black teams faced off at 7 p.m. on the football field. The night got off with a rough start with Bryce Shelhamer unfortunately getting injured on the first play of the game. She was eventually able to be sent for medical help and the game could then move forward. It was a close game for most of the evening, but in the last minutes the black team was able to score a touchdown. Making them the winners for the 2020 Powder Puff game!
