Mom, grandma, great-grandma; Lillian Leischner passed away on April 7, 2020 at the age of 93 at the Fallon Medical Complex with family at her side.

Lillian was born on Dec. 13, 1926 at the family farmstead three miles south of Plevna, MT, the daughter of Adolph and Lydia (Schell) Janz. Her childhood was spent on the farm with her one brother and three sisters learning the lessons of life which she learned well. She attended school in Plevna and told of walking to school and what an ordeal that was. She graduated from Plevna High School in 1944 and then attended Billings Normal School in Billings, which is now MSU-B. While there she received a teaching certificate and upon coming home taught school for a short period of time at the Lame Jones School. During this time, Lillian met the love of her life; Clarence Leischner after his return from Europe and World War II. They were united in marriage on August 30, 1946, and together they bought a farm 1 1/2 miles south of Plevna where she lived her entire life less than 1 miles from where she was born. She did spend a short time in the Parkview Retirement Complex and one year at the Fallon County Nursing Home where she received the finest care possible. Clarence and Lillian were blessed with two children; Jim and Jackie. Lillian’s greatest joys in life were family and friends; especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and yard work. Church was very important to Lillian and she was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church; 93 years. Because of this, she could provide many historical facts and information about the church.

Lillian is survived by her son Jim (Kathy) of Plevna, MT, daughter Jackie (Tom) Rieger of Billings, MT. Six grandchildren; Nicole Schuler and Tim Knapp of Alladin, WY, Tom Leischner of Bozeman, MT, Jamie and Josh LaCroix of Billings, MT, Kelly and Matt Freese of Belgrade, MT, Paul and Akvalina Rieger of Billings, MT, Tandeen and Chad Schwend of Billings, MT, 16 great grandchildren; Sienna, Kamby, Cade, Taylor, Tyler, Isaiah, Micah, Bailey, Jameson, Haylee, Korben, Londyn, Savannah, Sofia, Gavin and Gabrielle.
