Ellen Dockter

Funeral service for Ellen Dockter, 90, of Baker, was held on Feb. 8, 2020 at the First Baptist Church, Baker, with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating. Burial followed in Bonnievale Cemetery.

Ellen passed away on Feb. 1, 2020 at Superior Care Villa in Baker.

Ellen C. Dockter was born Feb. 28, 1929, the daughter of Oscar and Elma Ranum, in Ismay, MT. She was raised on a ranch in the Knowlton area and went to country school (Foundation) for eight years. She then attended Baker High School for four years. After school, Ellen attended Billings Business College. She then returned to Baker where she started working for Attorney’s Al Hansen and Russell Culver for 16 years. She ran the Phillips 66 Truck Stop & Café with her husband for a little over a year. Ellen then worked for Attorney, Gene Huntly, and retired after 20 years.

Ellen married Milton Dockter on April 8, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Billings, MT. To this union two children were born; Daniel Milton Dockter and Debra Ellen Dockter. She and Milton were members of the First Baptist Church in Baker where she taught Sunday School and was a Deaconess.

Ellen is survived by her children, Daniel (Kathy) Dockter and Debra (Scott) Yagues; five grandchildren, Adam (Angie) Dockter, Amanda (Ian) Dockter Kell, Daytona Travis, Tyler (Jamie) Travis and Cheri (Kelsen) Jensen; six great-grandchildren, Kiern Dockter, Owen Kell and Wyatt Kell, Aaliyah Edqueda and Preston and Madisyn Asher. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; brother, Joseph Ranum; and granddaughter, Rikki Travis.
