2020 was a year that affected each and everyone of us.

Small businesses were stressed, the education system had to redo their lesson plans, hospitals had to regroup, change prescriptions and families had struggles.

We are definitely in this together!

The Baker Chamber had to be creative last year to be able to put on the events that did happen.

Understandably, events that were not canceled, attendance was way down. One of the events that we were able to accomplish was the 3x3 Basketball Tournament (since that was held outside) with all proceeds from that event being donated to the After School Program. Downtown - “Trunk or Treat” (outside event); Calcutta; Moonlight Madness Customer Appreciation; Small Business Saturday; “It Pays to Shop in Baker”; County Christmas Countdown; Christmas Stroll; and the Christmas Lighting Contest were held in 2020. Sponsored scholarships - for Baker, Plevna, Ekalaka seniors was a success. We raised funds to assist in the purchase of dishes/dishwasher for the Fallon County Fairground Exhibit Hall.

Additional activities/events that the Chamber has sponsored as an active chamber include Fall Festival; Chili Cook-off with Baker CowBelles; Duck Races; Teacher’s Appreciation; Pink Flamingo Flocking Sign Fundraiser; Valentine’s Day Candy Grams; Letters from Santa; Santa arrives at the Fire Hall - goodie bags; Bulls, Broncs, Barrels; Baker Car Show; 4th of July; Crazy Days & Pet Parade; Baker Bucks; assist with the Montana High School Rodeo; Flower Pots for main street; street decorations; and SMART membership. Facebook, a new website and Vista are just a few mediums that we use to market the Baker Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.

The Baker Chamber has enjoyed an increase in viability which includes inquiries for business referrals, relocation information, employment availability, activity/event information, and housing opportunities.
