On the 1st of May, poppy cans are set out to collect donations. Any left over poppies are waxed by the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteers for decorations for our memorial day services.

The American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion, Sons of the American Legion and volunteers meet the Thursday before Memorial Day to decorate crosses with fresh cedar boughs and waxed poppies. Fresh cedar boughs are also used o make swags for veterans at our rural cemeteries.

On Sunday morning the crosses are displayed at local cemeteries and American flags are placed for each veteran. The crosses and flags are removed Monday evening.

This year boy scout troops 256 & 258 were available for all of the Memorial Day tasks.
