Red Butte Ramblers

By Jenna Paul

On Nov. 10, 2019, President Sayge Barkley called to order the third meeting of the Red Butte Ramblers 4-H Club. Jordan led the American pledge and Jaeda led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was what our favorite holiday is. The minutes were approved as read. The treasurer’s report was pending due to the fact that the book was in the extension office and our treasurer was absent. There was no correspondence.

For old business Jenna gave a report on the Interstate Exchange Club. They have already had their first fundraiser to help raise money for their trip to Maine next summer. Kodi gave a report on the Superior Care Villa visit. Country Cousins members brought their dogs, guinea pigs and other small animals for the residents to see. We reminded the members to turn in their re-enrollment packets in order to receive their project books. The club also reminded the members to pay their dues to the new treasurer, Cooper. They are $5/member or leader and $6/ horse member or leader.

For new business Kodi informed the club about a CPR and First Aid class in December and the idea of having a group activity for the kids to put into their record books. Michael notified the club about the Range Club and their Interstate Exchange Club. The older members were reminded about demonstrations to act as a model for the younger kids’ demonstrations. The club decided to make a decision at the next meeting about the Foods Festival time and date. There was a sewing workshop on Nov. 14 from 3:30-5 p.m. for all youth. If anybody was interested there was a Shooting Sports meeting on Nov. 11. The beef weigh-in is on Dec. 30 from 9-11 a.m. at the Wang Ranch with an MQA to follow. Jenna and Jaeda volunteered to be on the fair awards committee, Jolinda is on the fairbook revision committee and the Pauls are on the livestock committee. The club members decided to include the senior citizens in the club Christmas party. Members are to each bring two white elephant gifts. Members with last names starting with A-O are to bring sweet snacks and last names P-Z are to bring savory treats. Michael then put on a rangeland game.

Our next meeting is Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. and hosts, Riegers, are to bring drinks and paper products.
