Speech and Drama begins

On Nov. 12, the Speech and Drama team traveled to Billings for the first meet which was hosted by Shepherd. In attendance were AA Schools, A schools, B schools and C schools. Jolyn Rost and Skylar Wall took seventh place in Dramatic Duo and Jalynn Hanes took third in Mime. Cayla Duke and Bryce Shelhamer, both in Dramatic Oral Interpretation, did not make it to finals. Olivia Gunderson, in Humorous Oral Interpretation, also did not place in finals.

The second meet was hosted by Poplar where three Class A schools, five Class B schools and three Class C schools attended. Cayla Duke placed seventh in Dramatic Oral Interpretation and Bryce Shelhamer took fifth in the same event. Olivia Gunderson achieved first place in Humorous Oral Interpretation. Hannah Goerndt took third in Dramatic Solo and Jalynn Hanes placed first in Mime. Zachery Craig placed second in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Overall the Speech sweeps resulted in Malta with third, Baker with second place and Glasgow took first. In the Drama Department Baker took third place, second Poplar and Glasgow placed first.
