October 26, Mrs. Robertus, adviser, Jenna Paul, Dacy Buerkle and Jaeda Paul began the journey to Fairmont Hot Springs. Unfortunately, due to weather, they spent the night in Livingston and traveled onward the next day. Upon arrival, Jenna helped welcome this year’s attendees to the Leadership Rally. On the first day, they attended roundtables, or mini workshops presented by the state officers, which included events to boost FCCLA membership, FCCLA scholarship offers, a Japanese Exchange Program, and the National Program Career Connection. After a brief intermission, the districts came together to plan their year. Dacy and Jaeda participated in the FCCLA Knowledge Bowl, where they were quizzed on their FCS and FCCLA knowledge. After competing, they took some time to enjoy the Hot Springs.
On Oct. 28, they attended more workshops, including the Power of FCCLA, National Programs, and Chapter Officer Training. During this time, Jenna presented a workshop on Community Service with two of her fellow officers. The Conference ended soon after, in hopes of chapters making it home before a winter storm hit. However, that was not the case for the group. They stayed in Laurel that night and continued home on Oct. 30. Overall, the group had an educational trip to Leadership Rally.
