October is the start of the  cooler months. However, Connors Stadium at Denton Sports Complex will be heating up on Saturday, Oct. 12, with this year’s Powderpuff  Football game.

This year, Miles City will be playing Baker. The gates open at 4 p.m. and kickoff is at 5 p.m. in Connors Stadium at Denton Sports Complex. Proceeds will benefit the oneHealth Breast Cancer fund and the CNADA victims fund.

Entry to the game is by a free-will donation. Other fundraisers and concessions will be available.

Every year, Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault (CNADA) and oneHealth have teamed up to bring an awareness event to shine a light on breast cancer and domestic violence awareness and ways to prevent them. Each of these causes share the month of October as their awareness month, according to a oneHealth news release.

This year Baker has accepted Miles City’s challenge to participate in the annual powderpuff game. These women promised to give it their all and pour their hearts and souls into this game and these causes just as the Miles City women have done for the past four years.

That is exactly what they did at the pregame scrimmage in Baker on Sept. 13. Baker showed up and beat Miles City by one touchdown.

Both teams left the field even more determined to take home the trophy during the game they will play this month.
