Wolf Point football game

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Baker Spartans kicked off their season against the Wolf Point Wolves. Kick off was at 7 p.m. and the Spartans received the ball. They drove right down the field and Riley O’Donnell scored the first touchdown for the Spartans. The PAT failed and the score was 6-0. The Spartans then kicked off to the Wolves and stopped them in their tracks to get the ball back. The teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the first quarter and at the end of the quarter the score was Baker 6 Wolf Point 0. The Spartans and the Wolves took a little water break and then the Spartans came out and destroyed the Wolves.

The Spartans came out strong and scored 22 more points in the second quarter while still holding the Wolves scoreless. At the end of the first half, the score was Baker 28 Wolf Point 0.

After halftime the Spartans came out to add one more touchdown to the board which allowed them to sub in the JV. After the first three quarters the score was Baker 34 Wolf Point 0. During the fourth quarter the young Spartans failed to score again but still held the Wolves to 13 points.

Riley O’Donnell led the team in scoring with 20 points including 3 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion. Avery Uecker scored 8 points for the Spartans and Dillon Hickey added another 6 points.

Dillon Hickey led the team in rushing with 18 carries for 145 yards. Riley O’Donnell had 10 carries for 115 yards and Kyler Afrank had 7 carriers for 37 yards.

Trent Collins led the team in tackles with 6 including a sack. Jacob Wang, O’Connell Qualley and Ashton Afrank each had 5 tackles. Jaxson Tronstad, Trent Collins and O’Connell Qualley each had a fumble recovery. Riley O’Donnell and Teight Madler each had an interception.
