The Baker Wrestling Club had another packed house for our Demolition Derby to wrap up the Fallon County Fair again this year. We appreciate everyone in the community and surrounding communities, that help support and join us in this exciting event during the Fallon County Fair every year.
There were three high school drivers in the opening heat, with a $1,500 pay out to the top three and top two received trophies, Madison Moore 1st place and Tyler Kahl 2nd place, Gracie Kahl received a tool cart for third place donated by NAPA.
In the 3 Car Heats there were 12 drivers; Cory Miller, Tim Mellon, Summit Wiman, Roddey Zinda, Kurt Brown, Josh Zacher, Paul Wang, Josh Bunk, Mike Bunk, Nevada Turbiville, Ben Moore and Danny Hobbs.
Moving out of those three heats, the top two of each heat received trophies and moved into the Grand Finale. They were Cory Miller, Roddey Zinda, Paul Wang, Mike Bunk, Ben Moore and Nevada Turbiville.
The remaining drivers got busy working on their cars to get back in for the Grudge Match, the top two winners each received a trophy, Tyler Kahl and Summit Wiman to get into the Grand Finale as well.
Eight cars were in the Grand Finale, with a $5,000 pay out to the top three, and the top two received trophies, Cory Miller 1st place, Nevada Turbiville 2nd place, Roddy Zinda took home 3rd place.
The Truck Derby this year had four entries, Roddy Zinda, Rex Wiman, Colton Petermann and Kurt Brown. With a payout of $3,000 to the top three and the top two received trophies, Roddy Zinda 1st place, Colton Petermann 2nd place and Kurt Brown took home 3rd place.
The Herbie Derby Race had six kids 10-14 enter this heat. Jacey and Ryann Gorder, Jackson and Jerick Moser, Caden Barth and Janaya Brown. Rick Brown also built a Herbie Car that he raffled off to get another driver in the race. Audrey Brown won that spot to get into the competition. There were trophies for the top four winners, Janaya Brown 1st place, Jacey Gorder 2nd place, Caden Barth 3rd and Ryann Gorder 4th place. Janaya Brown also won a tool kit box donated by AWG (American Welding & Gas).
Cory Miller won the Most Aggressive Stan Wagner Memorial Trophy, and Roddy Zinda won the Hard Luck Trophy this year.
Calcutta winners were Graham Welding 1st place, Gorder Construction 2nd place and Wayne Nentwig won 3rd place.
Kim Law was the 50/50 winner this year.
The Baker Wrestling Club had approximately 55 girls and boys signed up this year and traveled to roughly 16 different tournaments, in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. We also sent a few to wrestling camps in Sidney, Billings and Bismarck. We will be starting another season at the end of the year to get rolling with practice to be ready for the start of the year with tournaments starting in January and rolling thru April.
