Plevna FFA Banquet

May 13, the Plevna FFA Chapter held their Annual Banquet at the Community Center. There was a silent auction held, which included various objects from pies to chalkboards. The 2018-2019 FFA officers conducted the Opening Ceremony, followed with Jenna Paul reading the Secretary’s Report. Then Jason Oberlander shared an Invocation, after which the guests and members dug into a hearty meal of roast beef, potatoes, corn, buns, salad, and a drink. A thank you to Kate Wills and Corrine Sander for playing a huge part in preparing the delicious meal for the banquet. After everyone was seated, Chloe Tudor, Wyatt Isaacs, and Jesse Isaacs each recited a part of the FFA Creed. Amidst the Year-In-Review speeches, orange cream and vanilla cake, made by Debi Wiman, was served.

Trinity Rieger and Jaiden Dulin spoke to the crowd about Plevna’s Farm to School Program. Jesse Isaacs told about Montana Range Days, while Brentan Beyers shared the Montana FFA Camp and Alumni Leadership Camp (ALC). Lexi Wills summarized the Chapter Retreat to Medicine Rocks, and Wyatt Isaacs spoke about Montana Range Camp. Jenna Paul then explained District Leadership School (DLS); Nick Buerkle and Jaeda Paul shared the Fall and Spring District events. Jessica Paul shared her exciting experiences at National Convention in Indianapolis.

Seth Carroll and Jessica Paul related the competitions at John Deere Ag Expo in Bozeman. Jesse Isaacs talked about Fergus Mechanics, and Chloe Tudor spoke about State Convention. Sophia Schumacher and Maddi Butori then enlightened the crowd with a hilarious speech about Career Development Event Days (CDE) in Great Falls.

Mr. Isaacs and Karli Blanchard, 2018-2019 State Sentinel, handed out the Chapter Foundation Awards. The qualifying members for Greenhand Degree in the freshman class were Seth Carroll, Jesse Isaacs, Chloe Tudor and Lexi Wills with the Star Greenhand Award going to Jesse Isaacs. Qualifiers for the Discovery Degree in the eighth grade were NiBuerkle, Jaiden Dulin, Wyatt Isaacs and Jaeda Paul. Top Salesperson for Junior High was Wyatt Isaacs; High School’s top salesperson was Seth Carroll. Jessica Paul received the Chapter Scholarship.

Karli Blanchard gave the Keynote Address with a message to show kindness and compassion as we go out into the world. Following her speech, there was a slideshow down memory lane, reviewing the FFA year. The installation of the 2019-2020 officer team was then held with the following officers being elected: President – Dacy Buerkle, Vice President – Jesse Isaacs, Secretary – Nick Buerkle, Treasurer – Chloe Tudor, Reporter – Jaeda Paul, Sentinel – Jaiden Dulin, Parliamentarian – Wyatt Isaacs, and Historian – Maddi Butori. The New Officer Team conducted the Closing Ceremony.
