A very young men’s Spartan golf team had an amazing experience at state. Overall, the team brought home a third place state trophy!
Head Coach Tom Breitbach commented, “We are very proud of all the golfers we had this year. We saw a lot of improvement through the year. The future of golf in Baker is bright.” Coach Brence added, “We could not be more proud of the hard work and heart that was put into this season. This was a great learning year for us going to a different course and learning to grind it out against some great competition. Our team goal is to be in the mix for a state title next year and with the passion these kids have for it, we know they can do it.”
Individual stats were:
Konner Flint (76-78) tied for 4th place and medaled.
Trent Collins (89-91) tied for 23rd place.
Jaxson Tronstad (95-95) placed 28th.
Ashton Afrank (105-97) placed 49th.
Riley Schultz (115-109) placed 62nd.
Hope Craft, the lone women’s golfer from Baker, had scores of 123-122 and placed 47th out of 67.
