Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Awarded to Baker High School Students

The business department announced that Courtney Tudor and Jalynn Hanes successfully passed their Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exam. Courtney earned industry certification in Excel 2016 and Jalynn earned industry certification in Access 2016.

“The MOS Program at Baker High School boosts academic performance and prepares students for college and career,” said Lynn Beach, Business Educator, Baker High School. “Certification provides a clear end goal and when students earn certification for in-demand Microsoft Office programs, it builds their self-confidence. I am thrilled that our students have the opportunities to graduate from high school armed with a tool for their resume that can be expanded upon as they continue their education and start their career.”

The MOS certification is delivered by Certiport, a Pearson VUE business, and recognized globally as the premier credential for individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the Microsoft Office applications.  With more than two million exams taken annually in 148 countries, MOS is the leading IT certification in the world.

“MOS certification builds individual distinction and prepares students for an increasingly competitive workforce,” said Aaron Osmond, General Manager, Certiport. “By implementing this certification on a grand scale, Baker High School is showing the high priority they place on technology in education and on helping their students succeed in higher education and the workforce.”
