On April 30, the Baker Lady Spartan varsity tennis team journeyed to Glendive to compete in the 2019 Seeding Tournament. The Seeding Tournament determines how teams that participated will place going into divisionals. Varsity includes the top four singles: Tesla Erickson, Camryn Collins, Lena Kennel, and Tai Setinc, and the top two doubles teams: Madison Moore and Kelsey Miller, Lilly Hanson and Paiton Graham.
Baker, Wolf Point, Forsyth, and Poplar all took part in the tournament. Each singles player and doubles team played three matches, one against each team that was there. Baker played excellently as the Lady Spartans earned a clean sweep against the other teams. They won all eighteen of their matches, earning Baker the number one spot on the bracket to compete in at divisionals, which will take place next Thursday and Friday, May 9 – 10 in Glendive. Freshman Tai Setinc stated, “I’m impressed that everyone from Baker who competed succeeded in winning every match out of three.” Senior Kelsey Miller said, “Everyone’s clean sweep created a positive attitude for divisionals.” Wonderful job and good luck to our Lady Spartan tennis players next week!
