Golf team travels to Forsyth

On April 24, the Baker Spartan golf team traveled to Forsyth. Konner Flint shot an 82 which placed him third. Other scores were Jaxson Tronstad – 91, Riley Schultz – 92, Colin Lorbiecke – 99 and Camryn Collins – 110. The boys team shot a 364 and took second. Coach Brittani Brence said, “Even with the poor weather to start the season, the team is really improving and making great strides. The boys team has a great shot to qualify for state as a team and the girls are also looking good to qualify individually.”
Baker Golf Invitational 2019

On April 27, Baker hosted the Baker Invitational Golf Tournament. The boys’ team did excellent as they took first overall with a score of 336. Jaxson Tronstad individually took first with a score of 81, Konner Flint took second with a score of 83 and Trent Collins third with a score of 84. “It was pretty cold in the mornings but it got nice out and we all golfed well,” Trent stated.
Other scores include Riley Schultz with a score of 88 and Ashton Afrank with 95. Boys JV included Colin Lorbiecke with a score of 96, Ethan Verke 97, Aiden Rabbitt with 114 and Caleb Rost with a score of 131.
The girls also did very well. Camryn Collins took second with a score of 99 and Hope Craft shot a 117. The cold weather must have been memorable because Hope Craft said, “In the morning it was so cold my hands were going to freeze off. My hands felt frostbit. The front nine was bad and I was in my head a lot. The back nine was much better.” The Baker Golf team has one more tournament in Roundup this Friday then they head to Divisionals on Monday, May 6.
