A graveside service for Hulda Dockter, 95, of Baker, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Bonnievale Cemetery. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating.
Hulda passed away April 21, 2019 at Superior Care Villa in Baker.
Hulda Dockter was born Feb. 11, 1924 to Philip and Mary (Sayler) Dockter in Venturia, N.D. She grew up in Ashley, N.D. and attended country school in Lowell District #2. Hulda graduated from Ashley High School and later went on to attend to Ellendale Teachers College, Southern Oregon College, and Portland State University where she got her teaching degree. Hulda taught elementary school in many states. From 1942 to 1986 Hulda taught in N.D., Wash., Ore, and Alaska. After retiring in 1986 Hulda remained in Oregon where she thoroughly enjoyed her retirement. In 2002 her and her sister Irene moved to Baker, Mont. to be closer to family.
Hulda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Baker where she was active in vacation bible school, a youth director and a Sunday school teacher.
Hulda is survived by her sister, Irene Dockter; nieces and nephews, Daniel Dockter, Debbie Dockter, Patty Beck and Tim Bertsch; and several great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Mary; brother, Milton Dockter; and sister, Adeline Bertsch.
