Kelly Joseph Mahon, 54, unexpectantly passed away of natural causes on Feb. 14, 2019 in his home in Los Angeles, Cali. He was born March 19, 1964 in Detroit Lakes, Minn. the ninth of thirteen children of Martha (Kachel) Mahon and Thomas F. Mahon. Kelly grew up in Baker, Mont. graduating from Baker High School in 1983. Kelly was actively involved with a large number of school activities including student council, art club, speech and drama, cross country and his favorite activity, the theatre, playing a leading role in many theatrical productions throughout high school. Kelly was the most talented and award-winning musician in a large family of musicians showing not only talent and aptitude, but a genuine passion for his singing and french horn musical performances. Kelly had an amazing voice. He shared this amazing gift on many occasions with heart stopping memorable performances at many family members weddings. After graduating from high school Kelly attended the University of Montana working toward a music education degree. Kelly was never afraid to hit the open road and venture out of his comfort zone by working on both the east coast and west coast for the majority of his life in many different positions as a secretary and in the hospitality industry. Kelly blessed all of us with his incredible sense of humor and his outlook on life. He truly enjoyed making others smile and laugh with his quick wit and memorable one line sarcastic come backs that more often than not, brightened the lives of everyone around him. We were all blessed by being a small part of Kelly’s life, he will always be close to all our hearts, eternally bringing smiles and laughter in remembrance of this incredible brother, uncle and friend. Kelly is survived by his twelve siblings, Jeff (Linda) Mahon, of Hayden Idaho, Tim (Sandy) Mahon of St. Paul, Minn., Tom (Pat) Mahon of Rapid City, S.D., Bert (Vickie) Mahon of Corvallis, Mont., Mike Mahon of Crookston, Minn., Jim Mahon of Plant City, Fla., Nancee Simms of Alamosa, Colo., Barb (Randy) Ketterling of Baker, Mont., Dave Mahon of Billings, Mont., Chuck (Carol) Mahon of DeSoto, Kan., Matt (Shirley) Mahon of Millville, N.J. and Mary Mahon of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; ten nieces and 13 nephews. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Martha Mahon. Cremation has taken place.
