The Baker Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture hosted their annual Calcutta event on Feb. 23 at Thee Garage and Steakhouse Showroom. The Chamber’s Calcutta, usually held in October, was rescheduled due to changes made to the gambling laws in Montana. This year’s theme was “Mardi Gras Masquerade.”

Folks who attended the Calcutta were able to enjoy a buffet-style dinner of prime rib, shrimp and a salad bar as well as a few drinks. To add to the Masquerade theme, the Chamber provided Masquerade masks to be auctioned off.
Approximately 125 people attended this year’s fundraising event and were able to participate in several games throughout the night including Family Feud, as well as Heads or Tails, a game where people would bet their beads on whether the coin being flipped would land on heads or tails, eliminating those who guessed incorrectly until there was one winner left standing.
Key Realty of Bowman, N.D., provided their auctioneer services for the event, and Allen Beyers provided DJ services for The Rock Jocks. Kyle Medearis and Alissa Miller both acted as an MC for the night.
The Baker Chamber of Commerce is beginning to make plans for their next Calcutta.
