FCCLA Grinch Party

Students creating their Grinch ornaments.

By Jessica Paul

As a Service Project, the Plevna FCCLA Chapter held a Christmas Party Dec. 7 for students kindergarten through fifth grade. They played in the snow for a little while before coming inside to drink hot chocolate. Jaeda Paul read “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss, while the students drank hot chocolate and colored Christmas pictures. After they finished their hot chocolate, students split into three groups. One group went to the snack room, one journeyed to watch the movie, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and the last group headed to the craft room. In the snack room, students were able to create their snacks using pretzels, popcorn, M & M’s, and marshmallows. In the craft room, Tylee Rieger helped students create ornaments to hang on their trees. Students used red, green, and white puffballs to stuff inside the plastic ornaments, and then they used glitter glue to draw a heart on the outside. The reason students drew a heart was to show that the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes after it was two sizes too small. All the students had a fun time watching the movie, eating snacks, and creating an ornament all their own.
