~ Plevna Christmas Program ~

By Jenna Paul

On Dec. 13, Mrs. Wagnon presented the community with the K-12 Christmas Program. The program kicked off with the third grade recorders playing Joy to the World. The beginning band took it from there playing an Appalachian Christmas Folk Song along with Jingle Bells and Jungle Drums.

Kindergarteners sang Santa Claus is Coming to Town and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. The first graders performed Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer as well as I Have a Cold in my Nose. Following this, our second graders, singing the Carol of the Elves and Little Drummer Boy, entertained the crowd.

Third graders sang On a Starlit Night and Silver Bells. The fourth grade sang Bring on the Snow as well as Yuletide Rhythm. Our concert choir crooned Gaudeamus Hodie, Shout Allelu, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Carol of the Bells, and a variation of Jingle Bells that entertained the crowd.

The combined fifth and sixth grade choir sang Christmas Solfege and Twelve Days of Re-gifted Christmas. Our jazz band performed Charlie Brown’s Christmas Time is Here and Sleigh Bells. Fourth graders played Deck the Halls with Boughs of Boomwhackers. Our concert band performed Christmas Africana, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Dedication, March, Celebration. The program ended with the concert choir and band combining for Mary Did You Know with Brandon Breihahn and Maddi Butori on flutes. With all the wonderful Christmas music, the audience left with a spirit of Christmas in their hearts.
