2018 Fall Athletic Banquet

November 12 the annual fall athletic banquet took place. This event celebrates the participation and accomplishment of both volleyball and football players.

This year’s Spartan varsity football team was led by captains Trevor Lingle and Sean Shelhamer. Season totals of game statistics determined the Offensive Player Award went to Riley O’Donnell and the Defensive Player Award to Sean Shelhamer. Sean also received the Most Inspirational Award. Teight Madler, a junior, was voted by his team members as Most Improved. This year’s Steve McClain Memorial recipient was Ethan Reichenberg. Riley O’Donnell was award the Zeke Lund Memorial. Riley O’Donnell (Defensive Back) and Trevor Lingle (Receiver) made 2nd Team for All-Conference. Along with these players Trent Collins, Dillon Hickey, Bryce Hufford, Collin Hunter, O’Connell Qualley and Jacob Wang received bars. Ashton Afrank, Konner Flint, Logan Graham and Jory Miller received their football pin, this symbolizing the first year of varsity football. Aiden Rabbitt, Jonathon Reetz, Avery Ueker, Marcos Gallegos, Bruce Higbee, Jesse Isaacs, Garrett Lesh, Colin Lorbiecke, Tegan Miller, Cooper Peterson, Caleb Rost, and Jaxson Tronstad each receive a letter and football pin. Managers Devon Solberg and Hunter Mashak received bars. Those who maintained a 3.5+ GPA received Academic All-State. These players were Trent Collins, Konner Flint, Logan Graham, Bradley Kallevig, Terrell Koenig, Trevor Lingle, Hunter Mashak, O’Connell Qualley, Caleb Rost, Riley Schultz, Avery Uecker, and Jacob Wang.

The 2018 Lady Spartan varsity volleyball team had a solid season, taking second at District and beating Red Lodge at the Divisional level. The captains of the team were Wrenzi Wrzesinski, Madison Moore, Macee Hadley. Wrenzi was recognized by her teammates as MVP and Most Inspirational. Peyton Janeway, a freshman, received the award for Most Improved. Wrenzi held the highest season total of aces with 55. Macee lead in assists with 623. Katie Wang had the most successful blocks, 61. Shelby Moore held the most digs, 285. Andie Bachelor had a total of 226 kills. For the All-State 1st team, Wrenzi was the only Baker athlete selected. Wrenzi and Katie made 1st team All-Conference. And athletes Andie and Macee were chosen as 2nd team All-Conference. Along with these volleyball players Hannah Gonsioroski, Kelsey Miller, and Halle Burdick received a bar. Sady Harbaugh received a volleyball pin. Peyton Janeway received a letter and a pin. Shianne Beach, Sayge Barkley, and Anika Ploeger received a letter and manager pin. Sayge, Halle, Hannah, Macee, Wrenzi, Sady, Madison, Shelby, Anika, and Katie all were awarded Academic All-State.
