Xi Alpha Nu’s Christmas Bazaar a success

By Darby Martin

To kick off the holiday season, Xi Alpha Nu hosted their annual Christmas Bazaar in the McGonigal Gymnasium at Baker High School on Nov. 18. The gym was buzzing, the parking lots were full, and the slightly snowy weather truly set the mood for Christmas shopping.

In addition to the bazaar, the Scholastic Book Fair was also in the gym so folks could pick up some new winter reading or Christmas gifts, with all proceeds of the book fair going to the school’s library.

The Baker High School Music Department was selling concessions to help earn funding for their upcoming trip to Chicago in June to feed those shoppers that worked up a hunger.  As always, the Sorority sold their famous cheese balls, with all proceeds going towards the music department, to help support their trip this coming summer.

The bazaar was a great opportunity to get an early start on Christmas shopping while helping Xi Alpha Nu raise funds for community service projects and social events they put on throughout the year. With a photo booth, homemade crafts, sweet treats, and a huge variety of other homemade goods from vendors all around the region, there was something to please everyone.
