Fire Safety

On Oct. 11, Fire Chief Kalyn Bohle, Kay Webb, and Larry Dahl introduced the K-5 students to fire safety. The firefighters worked with the students to let them know that many of the firefighters are everyday people, often times, people they know. They tried to show the students that they should not be afraid of firefighters because they are there to help. Chief Bohle then showed the students parts of a fire engine, and they were even given the opportunity to sit inside of the cab. They learned how to empty the water tank on the truck, they observed the oxygen tanks on board, and they looked at all of the hoses and tools that firefighters use during a fire. After everyone finished looking in the cab, Kay Webb ran the sirens and lights.
