Baker High School music students participated in the District 10 Honor Festival held on Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday Nov. 22, 2016 at Dawson County High School in Glendive.

Baker High School music students participated in the District 10 Honor Festival held on Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday Nov. 22, 2016 at Dawson County High School in Glendive. Outstanding band and choir students are selected by the directors of District 10 to be members of the honor band or honor choir. Students rehearsed with guest conductors for two days and presented a gala concert on Tuesday evening. Guest conductors were Steve Patton and Erin Small who both teach in Billings.
Twenty-one students from BHS participated. Members of the Mixed Honor Choir include Taiken Goerndt, Kendal Wipperling, Anna Espeland, Megan Greiff, Megan Slagter, Autumn Law, Kelsey Miller and Isaac Rost.
Thirteen members of the BHS band were selected. Live auditions were held for chair placement on Monday before rehearsals started. Two BHS students were selected as 2nd chair in their section: Rachel Rost (trombone 3) and Lena Kennel (bass clarinet). Eight BHS band members were selected as 1st chair: Alissa Schell (flute 2), Caleb Ploeger (tenor sax), Casey Wyrwas (trumpet 2), Maleah Graham (alto sax 1), Riley Schultz (trumpet 3), Cameron MacKay (trombone 2), Breanna Miller (alto sax 2), and Alivia Schultz (clarinet 2). The group was rounded out with Devon Solberg (tuba), Maryssa Rusley (flute 1) and Terrell Koenig (trombone 3).
