Close to 100 area residents attended the Community Thanksgiving Feast at Heiser’s Bar.

This community Thanksgiving gathering is closing in on its 50 year anniversary. It was established by Alice and Bernie Heiser, back in the 1970’s when they discovered that a number of their patrons and friends had no place to go for the holiday. Kelly and Angela Heiser have continued this tradition for the past 15 years.

Over the years they have served families and young and old individuals from the local community, to workers and hunters here in Baker, over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The feast offers turkey, ham and all the traditional favorites.

Sara Helgoth, daughter of the Heisers said, “Everybody at the bar enjoys coming to work to serve the meal, which they do on a volunteer basIs. The bar donates their wages and any tips given to a worthy community cause.”

The community is thankful to Heiser’s Bar for their contribution in sharing a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and a time of fellowship for Baker residents.
