The morning will begin at 7:30 as a 5K Walk/Run around the lake gets in full gear. So lace up those sneakers and sign up at 7:30 a.m. and be ready to begin the race at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Racers will compete in six age categories ranging from 7 to 70. All children will have a chance to compete in the Kids’ Fun Run that same morning. Then kick back, catch your breath before the volleyball double elimination tournament gets underway at 2:00 p.m.

Food concessions will be offered all day, so enjoy a tasty burger, hot dog, chips, candy or a cold drink. Enjoy your lunch at the park, either at the food court or bring your own basket of goodies as you picnic with the family.

The horseshoe doubles tournament will begin at 4:00 p.m. as pairs “ring” their way to the championship.

Although the lake will be closed to all activity this year, the Recreation Department has lined up numerous spectacular onshore amusements. Four inflatable amusements with names like Mega Obstacle, Alien Bounce and Slide Combo, Kapow Game and Purple Paradise Water Slide are sure to thrill the kids as they have an unforgettable good time. Also new this year is the Whirling Bird. This fast moving four-seater is amped up by your ability to pump the lever. The faster you pump, the faster you whirl. It will remind you of the fast action of the fairway Sizzler.

Again this year the Rock Jocks will spin tunes that will give you  a positive coastal vibe as you bask in the summer sun.

The grand finale of the night will be a breathtaking display of community fireworks to begin at 10:00 p.m. The Baker Fire Department will be in charge of lighting them off from the east shore of the lake.
