May 27-28, six boys and seven girls traveled to Bozeman to participate in the State Class B Track Meet.
On the boys’ side, Matt Packer competed in the shot put, discus, and javelin. He just missed the podium, placing 7th in the javelin and 8th in the shot. Daniel Rost participated in the triple jump but failed to make finals. The 4×100 relay team of Dalton Herbst, Nic Bohle, Austin Braun and Jordan Baxter ran well but did not make the finals.
On the girls’ side, Scotti Robinson was able to compete in seven events at the meet – five individual and two relays. Individually, Scotti placed 5th in the 300m hurdles, 7th in the 200 and 400, and 9th in the 100 and pole vault.
In the javelin, two girls were in the top six, Madison Reddick placed 3rd and Elisa Hautala placed 4th. Madison Reddick also ran the 400m and did the triple jump, but did not place in those events. Savanah Burkhalter participated in the 200m and 400m and just missed the finals in the 200. Melissa Breitbach and Alivia Schultz competed in the high jump and Morgan Miller in the triple jump. The 4×100 relay (Madison Reddick, Amber Durden, Savanah Burkhalter and Scotti Robinson) made the finals but just missed out
on the medals by finishing 7th. The 4×400 relay (Madison Reddick, Savanah Burkhalter, Morgan Miller, Scotti Robinson) finished the meet with a third place medal.
It was a great ending to an exciting track
season. The graduating seniors will be missed but there is a solid group of athletes coming back next year to continue the Spartan track tradition.
