Fallon County 4-H members gained valuable cooking and communication skills by participating in the 4-H Foods Festival held Feb. 1 at the Fallon County exhibit hall. This event began at 5:30 p.m. with 19 youth presenting their prepared dishes on tables decorated to reflect a certain theme. Each member was questioned by two interviewers. The Tumbling Tumbleweeds 4-H Club hosted this event.
Participating youth included Nicole Allerdings, Haylee Barley, Sayge Barkley, Shianne Beach, Halle Brown, Madison Butori, Breannah Crisler, Mackenzie Crisler, Daley Crawford, Kaitlyn Durden, Madison Durden.
Harlee Graham, Kennedy Lyson, Whitney Thielen, Wyatt Thielen, Chloe Tudor, Sophia Tudor, Cooper O’Connor and Madison O’Connor.
All participants received a blue ribbon and a certificate on which the interviewers wrote encouraging remarks.
Everyone who attended this event was invited to sample the food from a buffet table after the interviews were complete. Those attending voiced how enjoyable the interviews and food dishes were. 4-H Food Festival recipe booklets are available from your Fallon-Carter Extension Office upon request.
