Delores passed away Jan. 21, 2016, at Bella Vista Nursing Home in Rapid City.
Delores was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Glasgow, the daughter of Claude and Demetries (Williams) Propper. Growing up, she attended Glasgow Elementary and High School, graduating and continuing her education at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. Delores met and married Robert Irvine in Circle in 1957. They were blessed with three children – Cabot, Mark and Kathy. Together they farmed and ranched on Bob’s family farm from 1960 until retiring in 2008.
Delores was active in Fallon Creek Cowbelles, Willard Homemakers, Lutheran Women’s Circles, as well as assisting Robert with day to day ranch activities until they sold the ranch in 2008. After selling the ranch, while they lived in Rapid City, Delores followed her great-granddaughters’ school and extracurricular activities, going to concerts, ball games and other events with her family there. Bob and she would join their friends for breakfast or dinners, whether in Rapid City or Arcadia, Florida (where they “snowbirded” in their later years).
Delores is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wood of Rolla, Mo.; two sons, Mark Irvine of Columbia Falls and Cabot Irvine of Rapid City; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Demetries; three sisters, Arlene Propper, Thara Zgoda and Maza Jones; one brother, Everette Propper; and her husband, Robert Irvine.
