Students take part in Online stock market game

In an endeavor to incorporate real-life math into the classroom, two of the Baker Junior High math classes participated in the online stock market game during fall semester. Baker Junior High entered five total teams and competed against high school teams across the state.

The stock market game helps students build a fundamental understanding of investing while providing them with real world skills practice in math, English language arts, economics, social studies, and other subjects.

One of the teams came in first place in the state and another team placed 12th out of 116 teams. The students received a cash reward for their hard work as well as statewide recognition on the website of the Montana Council on Economic Education. Members of the first place team are: William Rost, son of Jeremy and Tina Rost; Konner Flint, son of Klint and Brenda Flint; and Kalee Herbst, daughter of James and Kim Herbst.

Congratulations to these industrious young people!
