November 12-13, Mr. Isaacs, advisor, and the Plevna FFA Chapter along with Lynn Paul, chaperone, traveled to the John Deere Ag Expo in Bozeman. The Jr. Parliamentary Procedure team, consisting of Dacy Buerkle, Jenna Paul, Jessica Paul, Taylor Bertsch, Ashley Sander, Bret Edgell, and Trinity Rieger placed second out of nine teams.
Hats off to the junior agronomy team for taking first out of 34 teams. Ashley Sander placed 4th, Dacy Buerkle 5th, Taylor Bertsch 7th, Jessica Paul 9th, Trinity Rieger 11th, and Jenna Paul 13th. Colter Peterson and Cole Edgell competed in junior mechanics.
The senior agronomy team placed sixth with Dylan Sander 6th, Jake Edgell 8th. The junior livestock team placed 19th out of 44 teams.
At the banquet Nov. 12, keynote speaker John Knokey spoke about his time working for John Deere as well as the opportunities and new creations in the ag business. He stated that although people think farming and ranching is old school, there are many technology changes being made. So, yes, farming is becoming very new school.
At the closing, Senator Steve Daines made a small closing speech explaining what he is doing in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the farmers and ranchers of Montana.
