Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Kourtney (Hanley) Stortz, RN, BSN, has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2015.
Kourtney has worked at GMC since 2011. She currently works as a nurse in GMC’s oncology infusion center. She is known by her co-workers as giving excellent customer service, having received three Foundation Grateful Patient Awards to date. She is always willing to go above and beyond what her job description requires to help patients and her co-workers. “Oncology nursing is very rewarding, but also difficult. Kourtney is able to handle this and maintain a good work/life balance. She is wonderful to work with and a great fit for her job,” Lea Striegel, RN, BSN, Director of Surgical Services, said.
Kourtney assisted the Cancer Support Group in starting the Glendive Community Cancer Fund, which raises money for patients receiving cancer treatments who live in eastern Montana. She also assists in the surgery department during busy times or emergency situations. In her spare time, Kourtney enjoys being in her garden, camping and officiating volleyball. “It is very humbling to be recognized by my peers. I have found my passion of nursing for oncology and feel very privileged to care for our patients and their families,” Kourtney said.
