A winter wonderland greeted 85 area ladies who assembled beneath a heavenly body of twinkling stars to welcome the holiday season at a Sweet and Simple Affair held in the Exhibit Hall in Baker Nov. 7.

A buffet of tasty appetizers was enjoyed. Each lady was gifted a holiday cookbook which included a recipe of each delicious food item sampled.
Guests were seated among 13 beautifully decorated holiday themed tables. The designer of each table shared her holiday decorating tips. One chair at each table was secretly marked and the lucky occupant won a leather bonded Bible.
This mid-day event featured Pastor Kilsdonk’s wife Lisa who shared her thoughts on keeping the real meaning of Christmas in your Christmas celebration.
Twenty-two door prizes were awarded. The grand prize was a completely decorated holiday table with a complete elegant formal serving set for eight, tablecloth, and centerpiece. The lucky winner was Jalynn Dyke.
The afternoon concluded with each participant selecting a handmade tree ornament from one of the many festive decorated trees. Vendors were present to sell an array of gift-worthy treasures.
The free will offering will benefit women’s needs at our local Community Cupboard.
