During the last couple weeks, Mrs. Tunby’s first grade class has been learning all about apples.

By Nicole Allerdings

The students learned that apples grow on trees and they studied the different parts of the plant. One day they had the opportunity to make applesauce and taste it with ice cream. They read a book by Dr. Seuss called “10 Apples Up  on Top” and experimented with balancing apples on their heads. The students completed an art project using halved apples dipped in paint and stamping them on paper. They also learned about                                                                            Johnny Appleseed and how he was a good citizen by planting                                                                            apple trees.
