Baker High School cross country traveled to Fort Peck Dam Sept. 28 to compete in the Scottie Invitational Meet. The course is flat and fast, however, temperatures rose to 93 degrees during the meet creating unpleasant running conditions. Two BHS runners competed in the JV race – Chase Huelle finished in tenth place with a time of 20:07, while Aaron Smith finished 13th with a time of 20:16.
Varsity team member Spencer Losing recorded a personal best for the season, finishing in 17:14, earning fifth place. Teammate Ashton Jones, DCHS senior, placed first with a time of 15:53. The DCHS boys’ team placed first in team scores by placing four runners in the top ten.
Cross country will compete in Miles City Saturday, Oct. 10. Their regular season concludes with the Laurel meet Saturday, Oct. 17. The top seven runners for DCHS will advance to the All Class State Cross Country Meet in Great Falls, Saturday, Oct. 24.
