Sander wins Youth Range Camp Award again

Dylan Sander from Plevna once again won an honorable award at the Montana Youth Range Camp held July 27-31 at Colstrip.

Dylan SanderSander, 17, and other campers, age 12-18, learned  about Montana’s range plants and the interaction of soils, water, plants, wildlife, and livestock on the range. Classes and workshops were given throughout the week and each day the campers were quizzed on what they learned.

Sander won the Top Hand Award for getting the highest score on the quizzes. He received a belt buckle for his achievement.

It was the fifth year Sander, son of Shawn and Corrine, attended the camp.

The camp provides an opportunity for youth of varying backgrounds to become more aware of the value of Montana’s rangeland and is held at a different location in Montana every summer.
