Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

Letters to the Editor JPEG

I lived in Baker and ran a business there in the late 1950s. At that time Baker was a neat, clean town and everyone took pride in their homes and yards. I recently spent a few nights in Baker and was appalled at how disgusting the town looks today. All four roads leading into town have piles of trash and junk cars. Dilapidated and fallen  down buildings line the streets all over town. There are nice new homes next to trashed homes that have piles of junk and garbage in their yards and driveways.

Baker has wonderful schools, a new hospital, a new courthouse, and has made wonderful improvements around the lake. Why doesn’t the city council and the county commissioners enforce your zoning laws and clean this mess up.

I am looking for a place to invest some money but I have ruled out Baker.
