it’s Fair Housing month? The Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate in the sale or rental of housing. It’s illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability. There are many forms of housing discrimination that occur in Montana. A common situation involves a disabled renter who needs to keep a service or assistance animal but is not allowed a modification to the “no-pets” policy.
